SCAA COVID-19 Policy

All COVID issues among the Membership should be reported to their Team Manager immediately.
Team Manager must inform their Division’s Field Director immediately and Field Director should inform the Division's Player Agent, their respective VP (Baseball/Softball), SCAA Safety Manager, and SCAA President upon receipt.
If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor tests positive for COVID, the SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor must quarantine and not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice for five (5) days.
After five (5) days SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor who tested positive can return if they wear a mask or must continue to isolate and not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice through day ten (10).
If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor has a fever, they must not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice until 24 hours after becoming fever free without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Players who were infected and return after five (5) day isolation must not use dugouts and place gear along fence lines at 6’ intervals thru day ten (10).
An SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor who has been exposed to COVID-19 (defined as being in close contact within 6 feet of a person who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period or having direct contact with respiratory secretions from an infected person) must monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after exposure. If symptoms develop, SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor must begin isolation immediately and follow up with a healthcare provider.
If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor has ongoing household exposure to a person with COVID-19, they should begin testing after the Day 5.
Dugouts/benches may be used by SCAA players however it’s recommended that players try to keep a 3’ social distance as much as possible.
It is recommended that Spectators should maintain a 3‘ social distance as much as possible.
There is no sharing of equipment (bats, helmets, gloves), water bottles, etc.
Snacks may be provided by teams but all snacks must be in factory sealed individually packaged servings and may not be shared.
SCAA follows all guidance from the CDC, VDH, and City of Chesapeake Health Department. These policies may change abruptly and without advanced notice upon recommendations of the CDC, VDH, and CHD.
