SCAA's Softball Sunday Select Teams are individually managed, year-round groups formed from open tryouts with game play and practices being held in addition to SCAA's regular league play. SCAA Softball Sunday Select Teams are known as "Southern Chesapeake Riot".
Practices and games usually occur mainly on Fridays & Sundays so that they do not interfere with regular games, but may have 4-5 practices or events per week. Players are required to have previously played SCAA league ball last season in order to participate. Each SCAA softball division generally has one Sunday Select team. Teams generally roster 12 players, but may roster up to 15 players. Younger players may play up into the higher age group, but player may not play "down" into a younger age group. In the Fall, players are "Rising" to their new age groups to prepare for Spring Tournament Season!
Fall 2024 Riot Tryouts Schedule
Fall Riot Sunday Select Tryout dates are here! If your daughter is interested in trying out for our Sunday select softball program please come out and see what Riot is all about. Sunday Select takes things to the next level beyond recreational ball, and begins to refine skills and allow girls to see more competitive play. For the fall, girls are not required to play rec ball to be a part of a Riot team, but must play in the Spring.
